Since I have been trying to catch up with life the past 12 weeks: I have been slowly processing out a lot of my saved up images in my camera.
I am confessing right now that I am a camera hoarder. lol!
The week of DJ's Communion had some major crazy family circus happenings! At the beginning of the week Lil' Meatball had the beginning of a strep rash infection which we didn't find out until the day before DJ's big day. Then we had all 4 out of 5 sick with a 48 hour stomach flu virus that was literally occurring 48 hours before DJ's big day. It just felt like one thing would lead to another and another and another... but then I ... in between the clean ups of puke and diahrea, ME the
MOM got sick - and anyone who knows as a mom how it is to have little ones and yourself sick - it's a nightmare!
EVERYTHING felt worse and I felt so horrible and guilty at the same time! This infection felt like someone sucker punched your insides out. And all of your body including your sore dehydrated head was not going to be left untouched.
My superhero hubby Dennis came to the rescue! My husband was home in those days prior off from work for a supposed family vacation to celebrate DJ's special day and we slowly and surely got back to normal after a week of sickness and major disinfecting of our little casita. If only I would have taken a picture of Mt. Washmore... I was literally crying over the huge mountain of icky and smelly wash, towels and sofa cushions! And even then my sweetie pitched in to helping me and getting all of us better. He is a great husband and father, and his LOVE is so abundant! He was amazing that he didn't get sick: his so called DADDY Superpowers! =)
Did I also forget to mention that my BFF and DJ's Godmother Elisa also got sick on his special day. And then the day after, my mom and dad got sick and then my in-laws both got sick 2 days later. It was awful. I would not wish this horrible infection on anyone. It was definitely a sickness to remember and I hope I can forget very soon.
So here are some pictures of DJ's special day. I am now able to relax a bit (
well not that much)... but always knowing that even on special days yet to come, our life here in this little family circus has yet to have a boring or ordinary day! I pray they come very soon, through the rainy season in South Florida... I love movies, crafts, sewing, and baking on those days, it does make a family closer together!

"What wonderful majesty! What stupendous condescension! O sublime
humility! That the Lord of the whole universe, God and the Son of God,
should
humble Himself like this under the form of a little bread, for our
salvation"
"...In this world I cannot see the Most High Son of God with my own eyes, except for His Most Holy Body and Blood."

Lil' Rosebud finally got into some pictures. She wasn't feeling too good that morning. As you can see neither were my Lil' Ragu and Meatball in the pictures. They were still very under the weather. I was thankful that my mom and dad were able to stay with the 2 lil' ones so they could get better.

I took these pictures a few days after DJ's Communion, so that his Godmother would at least have a memory token of his day.

Oh congratulations to your handsome, young man! What a beautiful day he ended up having. I would have been in tears, too! But your pictures show an amazing day full of memories for your son and family. Beautiful pictures!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your son!! What a blessing!! I was shocked to see boys in white! That's sooo nice! Our parish seems to push for black suits, but white has such a good meaning! God Bless!
ReplyDeleteThank you Patty and Jennifer!
ReplyDeleteEven though I didn't feel too good the day turned out better than expected and I was able to do some photography as well! =)
@Jennifer -- our church strongly pushes for white suits, but ... I really prefer whichever the family can afford. There are some families that can't afford a suit nowadays. But I do agree the color white has a specialness to it and it is a beautiful sacrament that you will never forget. God bless you both! Thanks for the blessings!
